About the Scotch Sour

The Scotch Sour is a spirit-forward variation of the Whiskey Sour, made with Scotch whisky, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white for a creamy texture. Its roots trace back to the Sour family of cocktails, one of the oldest cocktail styles, combining spirit, citrus, and sugar for a balanced drink.

Scotch whisky brings a unique malt-forward and earthy profile to this classic. Blended Scotch is ideal for balance, while single malt can add more distinct flavors. A dash of Angostura bitters helps accentuate deeper tannic notes, creating a well-rounded and complex cocktail. Perfect for those seeking a sophisticated and slightly smoky alternative to the traditional Whiskey Sour.
